As an interaction designer I work across almost the entire lifecycle of a product or service. Even before the mitosis of a user interface makes its way to Figma, my work tends to lay fundamental knowledge of what is required for people and businesses to be successful (together). At IDEO I helped strategize, through research and prototyping, how design can dramatically alter the course of a business and its portfolio. I’ve steered executive boards with my design research that have yielded substantial change in both private and public sectors.
I've also launched products. At Science37, a clinical trial SaaS startup, I was executing, through design, vital product features across our user-focused initiatives. My efforts improved data-cleanliness for studies, and brought functionality to the product that opened up revenue streams improving our bottom-line and user experience. Designing interfaces for a decentralized clinical trial platform - one that looks to leave brick & mortar clinical spaces behind - requires a thoughtful, persistent, and pragmatic work ethic.

Laying the appropriate foundation of knowledge during key moments of growth is instrumental for any business. However, sometimes a company may not be ready for a number of reasons to digest and act upon new user research. Findings may impede or even complicate getting its product from the placeholder on its roadmap to being in the hands of its intended audience, and if for-profit: making revenue.
So how do we limit the risk of understanding people and build for them without slowing down mission-critical timelines? These potential fault lines typically can be medicated, like most things in life, with foresight, communication and ardent agreements between people. As an interaction designer with ample experience in researching for users, I understand the fine balance and work required to understand and design for users during mission critical moments.
